This web site is about me.  It’s about putting a marker down to establish in the cloud who I am and what I stand for – as a counter if you like to the scraps of information about us all on the internet that aggregate to distort our true selves if we just shrug and do nothing about it.  I hope there are things here that will illuminate, some that will promote thought and others that will make you smile.

The achievement list – what a pompous and self-congratulatory diatribe this could become!  I just wanted to sing my own praises a little, to inject a sense of who I am and what values I subscribe to.  This is not a list of “done thats” but perhaps a cathartic investigation of the minor successes and failures of an ordinary man in extraordinary times.

Like most men I have a tendency for short-term obsession.  The latest gadgets, the latest music and learning a new skill or developing a nerw hobby.  These are not obsessions in the psychiatric sense – but simply passions that for a moment in time become all encompassing.  Other men will see a little of themselves here I think – and suprisingly many women.
